Nearly 50 Thai restaurants in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia take parts in Songkran Thai Restaurant Week 2011 (11-17 April) launched by the Royal Thai Embassy in close cooperation with its Office of Agricultural Affairs. At the luncheon reception to kick off a week long promotion as well as to celebrate Thai New Year, known as Songkran, Carole Geitner, wife of US Secretary of Treasury, and Chef Michael Ginor from New York City are among the guests who are specially treated with Thai fruits and shrimps. |
