President of the Muslim Association of Al Quran Reader of Thailand paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister |
On 14 July 2011, Mr. Sanit Aimrit, President of the Muslim Association of Al Quran Reader of Thailand under the Patronage of the Sheikul Islam of Thailand, led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on Mr. Kasit Piromya, Foreign Minister, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Sanit expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its continued support and assistance for the Association since 2006 in enabling the Thai reciters to participate in the international events. For the 53rd International Al-Quran Reciters’ Assembly, to be held during 16-23 July 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Romlee Leahmina, Qari (male reciter) and Ms. Karimah Hayibaraheng, Qariah (female reciter) will be Thailand’s representatives to attend the event. Furthermore, Mr. Arwae Wa-E Basoo, Thai expert in Al-Quran reading who has been invited to be a member of judges’ panel every year, will also join the said Assembly. On this occasion, the Foreign Minister presented the President of the Association with two air tickets and 138,700 Baht to support the travel expenses of the Association’s staff. The Foreign Minister also extended his best wishes for the Thai national recital team’s success in the competition. He stressed that the team’s achievement would be held as a matter of pride for Thailand. |
