September 01-15: Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Where: All over Chiang Mai When: Various times Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) has arranged with 5,000 partners including shops, department stores, hospitals, travel agents, hotels, airlines, golf courses, duty-free stores in Chiang Mai to offer a huge range of discounts from 10 to 80 per cent.
September 01-30: Contemporary Art Exhibition Where: Angkrit Gallery, Chiang Rai, Tel: 086 9115331 When: 06:00 – 15:00 Around 60 paintings created from both teachers and students at Chiang Mai University will be exhibited with an emphasis on the abstract. Admission Free.
September 04: Kite Making Workshop Where: Sangdee Gallery, Sirimankhalajarn Road When: 10:00-11:30 Suitable for children over six, this workshop will have little ones making and decorating their very own flying machines which they can then test outside. Admission costs 300baht.
September 05-30: LannaPhotoClub Photo Exhibition Where: 2nd floor, Chiang Mai City Arts and Cutural Centre When: 08:30 – 16:30 Amazing display with many photos taken from countless places around the city in a variety of styles. The grand opening takes place on September 5.
September 07: Talent Competition Where: JJ Mart Gate, Chiang Mai Gate When: starts 18:00 JJ Market is hosting a talent contest for all those talented Chiang Mai residents or tourists who fancy showing off their skills to the crowd. Live bands, singing and lots of dancing ensure a fun time for all.
September 18: Mini Light and Sound Nopburi Sri Nakorn Ping Where: Chiang Mai City Arts Centre When: starts 19:00 Hosted by the Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts, this is a great way to learn more about the city and surrounding area. Tickets for this memorable occasion cost just 299 baht and visitors who want to hear the show in English should arrive at 20:00.
